She is six. Going on twelve. Going on seven months, still tucked in the belly. She is bright and generous, and bewildered and soft. She brings the sun up for her mother, and sets it to bed for her little brother, her father fully bathed in its midday light.
She is the little girl that lives downstairs and in her lays all of the beauty of a world that may hurt her a million times over, but which I pray never does.
The most beautiful thing I saw today were her cat eyes.
