the most beautiful thing: fringe

Every summer in Boulder, a slew of international, national, and local artists come together to perform music, dance, and theater “on the fringe” of the mainstream. From traditional-style theater, to Butoh, to clowning, to jazz, to stand-up, these shows offer inspiration and insight into humanity in about as many different ways as you could be touched. The Boulder International Fringe Festival is part of a global circuit of festivals dedicated to showcasing independent artists, troupes, and companies. The most beautiful moment of tonight”s viewings (I saw three shows!) was when the male character in 52 Pick Up did a brief monologue about how wonderful and thrilling it was to see his partner “light up” and smile because of him. Such a nice moment of insight into men, perhaps. Very nice.
